For two days, Santiago Gómez, director of Solport, has presented to the Panamanian delegation different electronic solutions for information exchange via EDI implemented in Spanish ports. “These solutions, known as paperless ports, represent the great electronic evolution that Spanish ports have carried out in the last 25 years”. During the work sessions, emphasis was placed on the telematic solutions applied in the ports of Barcelona and Valencia, showing the technological advances implemented. Through integration with the different PCS (Port Community System) portals, Solport presented the great advances in terms of cost reduction and, especially, of operation times in all the processes of the import-export chain. Various logistics operators from Barcelona also participated in the Solport work sessions with the Panamanian delegation, including cargo agents, maritime agents, container depots and transport companies.
